A worker wears a protective
bunny suit and respiratory mask to spray the soil March 5 at the
site of the new Science Building at Auraria, where asbestos was
found Jan. 10. Project managers are taking precautions to prevent
any risks to workers and the public. Tons of contaminated soil must
be taken to a designated landfill prior to construction, which is
expected to be completed two to four months after the original fall
2009 completion date.
