an (international) incident

The Metropolitan
The (International) Noise Conspiracy is a smart band. Using music as a Trojan horse, they've infested the hipster garage rock scene with their political commentary and subversive world views.
Along with song lyrics and the usual band chatter, liner notes to their albums are filled with their manifesto-rants about Socialist ideals, the corporate seizure of the world and what they call "The Global Fear Factory." (That is, to quote directly, "It is fear that insinuates itself into our daily routines as a fluid and dispersed mechanism of social control in contemporary capitalism").
Normally, big words and radical writings would scare off the average listener, but T(I)NC has found a way to keep everyone entertained and paying attention.
Dressed to impress with a snarling attitude to match, their music takes all the cool parts of 1960s mod rock, late-1970s punk rock and mid-1990s Swedish rock to form a stylish, candid, yet somehow modern sound. It's not necessarily anything new, but it sure does make revolution feel sexy.
Recently signing onto renowned producer Rick Rubin's American Recordings label, a new T(I)NC album is due out this summer. Rubin has noted that he's hoping to capture the vigor and intensity of their live show with this next record. Whatever comes out, it's sure to be explosive.
Somewhere in the world, a young consumer is driving around with the stereo turned up singing, "Capitalism sto-o-o-ole my virginity!" Ironic, maybe. But what better way to infiltrate the masses?
