The long and rocky road

Metro, I am sorry. I am sorry that this school´s democratic process has been subverted to mimic a Soviet model of elections because the incumbent doesn´t understand a constitution and this illegitimate Election Commission cannot read their own by-laws. I am sorry, because this is not democracy.

I would love to use this space to address the complaint that was used as a pretext to halt the election, but I can´t. The reason is simple, I have yet to be informed by the illegitimate Election Commission that I am even mentioned in the complaint. I have yet to see this document, and I was never alerted that I was expected to be present in a hearing as a defendant.  more  >>>

The cancellation of this election was as much of a surprise to me as it was to many of you. I strongly encourage that each of you, as students of this college, take a look at the Student Government Assembly (SGA) and realize that the SGA deserves better than these partisan politics. I really feel that the students deserve legitimately elected representatives versus those with fraudulent bias motives. It is important to realize that the people that are getting hurt are the student body, and we need to have our house in order with the new president, Dr. Jordan, coming in to take advantage of what we desire to see within our past commitments, at Metro, and for the Student "Voice."  more  >>>

Fifteen ways to leave your man

Some people are calling her the runaway bride, but I think that Jennifer Wilbanks, the woman who ran away from her 600-guest wedding, should be treated like a criminal.

I can understand that people get cold feet, but what she did was ridiculous. It would have been fine if she just ran away, rude, but fine. Instead of doing that, she decided to call the police and say that a man and woman in a van kidnapped her. What this did was cause 100 officers and several volunteers, including some guest from the wedding, to go searching for her. Not only was it a waste of those people´s time, but it´s dangerous to send officers on a wild goose chase, because who knows what crimes were committed while they were searching for someone who was in no danger at all.  more  >>>
