An Odyssey In Images

One of the best things about a career in photojournalism is seeing and experiencing new locations.
For the past two summers, Metro professor Kenn Bisio has taken a group of photojournalism students to California. During the journey, students have had the opportunity to shoot in picturesque Yosemite National Park and hilly San Francisco. During the first week of August, I had the opportunity to take this unique and enriching trip. Along with 16 fellow photojournalism students, I traveled to California to take pictures as part of a social-documentary class. During the trip, we found ourselves in diverse and unfamiliar environments.
Ultimately, the overall goal of this experience was to produce compelling and creative work while preparing ourselves for a career in photojournalism. These photos, taken by various members of the group, showcase our progress in realizing our ambitions.
