We are slaves to government, God

I'd like to start off by saying that my views are completely my own and it's not my intention for you to agree with what I have to say. Rather, my intention is to open some eyes or ears or heads, or even hearts, to another angle on some issues I deem of significant value in society.

That being said, I'll always be straightforward and honest with everything I share with you. I feel this is an important point to make, mainly due to the fact we live in the "age of media." What the average "sheep" or "lemming" or "unconcerned citizen" hears through the regular news channels is only a reflection of where their company's political affiliations lie. You might think many of my beliefs and theories are different. I believe deviance is the only way we can remedy the horrific problems cutting this country to pieces as if we're Jeffrey Dahmer's victims.

I'd like to share with you a figure. President Bush's baby, the war in Iraq has cost almost $200 billion, so far. I found a Website giving some other uses for the same amount of money. Instead, we could've paid for almost 26 million children to attend Head Start, insured 116.6 million kids, or hired 3.3 million additional public school teachers for a year. Or, the one that I currently care most about: we could've provided 9.4 million students four-year scholarships at public universities.

This causes me to question whether all that green is really going to fight a war, where, although innocent "sheep" have gone out to slaughter, there has been no progress to something having no point to begin with. The true reason was one of pure selfishness, at no cost out-of-pocket to "Dub-a-yuh," our famous, someday infamous, commander-in-chief. He wanted to be the apple of his daddy's eye. Too bad the apple has worms. This nonsense, however, comes at a very high price for us, the vanishing middle-class, an endangered species much like the wolverine. Difference being, the wolverine always fights back against anything trying to do it harm. Is it due to the fact human beings are more evolved? That might be true, if we never hunted or killed or fought. Having the ability to communicate-as I am with you now, for instance-doesn't make us more evolved. Being able to look past the past, and all of its minuscule, meaningless, materialistic traditions, to see we're only limited by ignorance, fear and hate; that's being evolved, maybe even enlightened.

I could go into so many different areas right now, but the hot topic is Hurricane Katrina. First, if this had happened in Texas or Florida, where "Dub-a-yuh" has family, the entire military over in Iraq and Afghanistan would've been shipped back here on jets and would've been ordered to stand, shoulder to shoulder as a human blockade, to protect and serve. Who would've protected them? Or would receiving an honorable funeral service be a sufficient enough reward?

Since nothing was done about the hurricane until way too late, it shows the government cares less about the people of Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi than it does about New York or Washington. This might seem logical, but we're the United States, not the Individualized States, and definitely not in the free world.

This is only one of several tragedies to happen under a Bush's leadership. Now, obviously, a Bush didn't cause the disaster, but he made the situation worse with his lack of leadership, initiative and common sense. Between "Dub-a-yuh" and his father, we've lost brave-yet na‹ve-soldiers in three separate conflicts.

I would like to leave you with a quote from a book by James Patterson: "Without God, we are condemned to be free." I believe God and government can be interchangeable in this, and many other situations.
