With momentum on their side, the Metro women's volleyball team swept both Adams State College and Fort Lewis College 3-0 on consecutive nights to prove that the team is slowly becoming an elite powerhouse in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Metro first knocked off Adams State 30-19, 30-23, 32-30 on Sept. 29 and then defeated Fort Lewis the following night 30-17, 30-26, 30-22.

With the two victories, Metro improved to a 10-5 overall record, and 6-2 in RMAC play.

Roadrunner head coach Debbie Hendricks said, "We know we have depth this year. It's probably the best we've had during my time here."

Sheena McLaughlin and Stefanie Allison consecutively led the team in kills both nights, and Taryn Drescher stood alone leading in digs.

The Roadrunners have now won six consecutive RMAC matches, after being defeated in their first two.

Metro volleyball heads out on a three-game road trip through Oct. 8 before returning home to face Western State College at 7 p.m. on Oct. 14.
