The Photo Atlas
@ Gigbot Stage
For those who like their punk rock with a healthy dose of dance, The Photo Atlas plays high-energy songs that are as much about bringing the mosh, as they are about dancing your ass off. With intricate guitar work, choruses that have you singing along, even if you don't know the words, and drum beats that make even the most jaded hipsters tapping their toes. Photo Atlas promises to fill Red Rocks' aisles and deliver an exciting show to the up-and-coming music festival.

@ Esurance Main Stage
Well traveled in the sounds of world-music (with influences including Mediterranean, Eastern Bloc and Latin), Denver-based quartet DeVotchka returns to the stage during what is soon becoming Colorado's keystone music festival, the mammoth Monolith.
DeVotchka doesn't disappoint with their theater-inspired live shows (they began their career as a backing band for burlesque) and the sensible spice of Old World orientation, bringing to their act the theremin, Bouzouki, guitar, trumpet and a variety of other string and horn instruments. DeVotchka is plain delicious, and what better place to take it all in than Red Rocks?

@ Esurance Main Stage
With their 2007 debut album *, French duo Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay (aka Justice) received immediate mass acclaim for their unique brand of dance and electronica, receiving several Best Album of the Year honors right on the heels of signing with prestigious French record label, Ed Banger Records. Their curious religious orientation is conveyed not just by Justice's album title, but by the trademark, giant, glowing cross they perform next to onstage. Whether it's the beaming crucifixion or Justice's booming hip-hop cuts, you're bound to see God one way or another.
Josh Novak
@ MadeLoud.com Stage
Listing "sex" as an influence on his MySpace page, Joshua Novak is certainly a walking advertisement: teenage girls would agree with eager, excited nods. Oh, and then there's the music. Novak doesn't write songs that adequately fit into the indie rock genre. Instead, he creatively twists lines of vulnerability to the breaking point in his sweet, angelic voice. He resurrects scenes of emotional instability through his placid voice and introverted lyrics. Collaborating with musicians Nathan Meese, John Rasmussen and Kit Peltzel, Novak is a burgeoning act in Denver's local music scene and should receive a big boost from his upcoming, big-time performance.
Atmosphere @ New Belgium Stage
When life gives you Atmosphere, you bump that shit loud. In the ruffled garbage of today's rap lies one of the most distinct hip-hop artists of the scene. The Minnesotan duo, Ant and Slug, create compelling lines of sorrow along with offbeat optimism about everyday life. Instead of using video music hoochies for inspiration, Ant's muse is a coffee shop waitress, a single mother, his deceased father, a pimp and other characters struggling with life's travails. The result is a form of music as honest as it is creative, as real as it is poignant. The genuine character of the group extends past the studio, however, with the implementation of guitar and piano in their live sets. In a scene that seems to depend on bright lights, bling and bass, Atmosphere gives it just what it needs -- life.
