There may be nothing more enticing than the triangular pizza slice. Any eater can take solace in its efficiency and the low price that comes with it.
But this doesn’t make pizza boring by any means, and just because Denver is so far away from Italy, New York, Chicago or any other pizza Mecca doesn’t mean locals can’t serve up a mean slice.
Luciano's
Luciano’s Pizza and Wings located on 1043 Broadway St. serves up “Buffalo Style” pizza with thick and buttery crust. Complemented by slices of pepperoni sizzling in a bed of melted cheese, it’s a slice of pizza with a very natural feeling.
Luciano’s can give you a good bite for a mere $1.85 a slice in a friendly, spacious atmosphere.
The spot also does a great chicken wing. And at only $7.95 for 10 wings or $29.95 for a bucket of 50, hey, what could go wrong?
Sexy Pizza
The second tip to Denver’s triangle of slice-slingers is Sexy Pizza. The crew here was adamant that pizza lovers know about their new name and soon to be renovated store.
The former joint, Pizza Vera, got a bad reputation in Denver for terrible service and worse pizza.
But all that has changed with new owner Evan Ackerfeld, a New York native turned Denver pizza aficionado.
Ackerfeld always wanted to own a neighborhood-friendly pizzeria, and now he is one of the owners of the shop located on 1018 E. 11th Ave.
New fare has been added to the take out menu. In addition to the slices, melt-in-your-mouth meatballs simmering in homemade marinara are just as worthy to write home about.
The recipe calls for the finest of mozzarella and sweetest of olive oil. At just $2 for four amazing meatballs, the price is always sexy, and the same for a slice is just heaven.
Benny Blanco's
For cravings geared more toward the on-the-go, urban style pizzeria, head to Benny Blanco’s.
Located at 616 13th Ave, Benny’s serves up quick, New York-style pizza, with the trademark characteristics: thin, chewy and big.

Right when you walk in, you’ll notice that there is no space to sit down and eat. And sometimes quick isn’t always good, as toppings are not always cooked into the pizza and the selection of canned soda can be lukewarm.
Benny’s is open until 3 a.m. and has to be quick to feed the late-night boozers. What is good is Benny’s price, only $2 a slice.
The next time you’re hungry ,ask yourself if a slice would hit the spot just right. You know Denver has a lot to offer. Luciano’s, Benny’s or the crew over at Sexy Pizza will be glad to have you and you’ll be glad you grabbed a slice.
