WHEN ARE WE GOING TO RISE UP AND QUELL THE NUMBER OF SMOKERS ON CAMPUS? ALSO, WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO AVOID UNWANTED SECONDHAND SMOKE?
I hate to say it, but smokers are people too--people with rights, meaning the right to slowly kill themselves if they so wish.
There probably isn't much we can do to "quell" their numbers that D.A.R.E. and all those Truth commercials already haven't tried. At this point, if someone smokes, they know the consequences to those around them and to themselves.
As for the unwanted secondhand smoke, they already can't smoke in buildings or next to doorways. If you have a problem with their close proximity to your pretty pink lungs, ask them to move or walk away yourself.
You may get punched in the face, but remember they can't chase you down without getting winded.
