A Profile of Hill Campus of Arts & Sciences
![]() |
Hill Campus of Arts and Sciences, just east of the Cherry Creek neighborhood in east Denver, is one of the city’s most ethnically balanced, high-performing middle schools. As a feeder school for East and George Washington high schools, Hill offers a strong academic program that includes:
- Honors and Honors X classes designed to prepare students for George Washington’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program and for Advanced Placement and other accelerated courses at East
- A rich variety of elective courses, including orchestra, drama, dance, photography, visual arts, video production, Spanish, technology and woodshop
- Extracurricular learning opportunities ranging from MathCounts and Destination Imagination, to activities connected with the district’s annual Shakespeare Festival.
Hill is the only middle school in the city that provides students access to three state-of-the-art computer labs as well as portable, wireless laptops. Students are taught and expected to use computers in all core subjects for research, reports and science/math applications, and have the opportunity to learn how to put together PowerPoint presentations, iMovies, and Web pages.
The top priorities for Hill’s administrative and teaching staff are to (1) maintain a safe, supportive and pleasant learning environment for all students and (2) challenge each student to achieve at or above his or her potential.
The school also offers before- and after-school, transitional-language and special education programs, and a special program for hearing-impaired students.
