Founded in 1985, The Institute for Women's Studies and Services combines an academic program with services that are typically offered through a women's center. Institute faculty, staff, and students are committed to education as the key to independence and achievement. Women's studies provides a broad-based interdisciplinary liberal arts education with an emphasis on critical thinking which can be applied to a multitude of careers. Women's services emphasizes recruitment and retention of a diverse, nontraditional student body through direct support services and outreach activities.
