The Clothesline Project (CLP) is a program started on Cape Cod, MA, in 1990 by a group of women who were addressing the silence around sexual violence by literally, “airing out dirty laundry”.  It is a powerful vehicle for all people affected by violence to bear witness to their experience by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the global plight of gender-based violence.  The following departments will have materials and times available to make a shirt in April: The Institute for Women’s Studies and Services 1033 Ninth Street Park, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Student Services @ Auraria in Tivoli 213 , The Phoenix Center at Auraria in Tivoli 259, Community College of Denver in Tivoli 309, & University of Colorado at Denver in Tivoli 303.
